Terms of Service

Effective 27 September 2026 · Last updated 10 October 2026

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer.

It describes how TrueStatement actually works today. Still to be added: the registered name of the business, its address, the Grievance Officer, the city for jurisdiction — marked where they appear below.

In short

  • Without an account, 3 statements a day convert free, up to 10 pages each. A free account converts 5 a day, plus one full statement once. The paid plans convert 30, 100 or 300 full statements a month and add JSON; Professional and Growth also include Tally XML.
  • Your statements stay on your device. You keep all rights to them and to everything made from them.
  • Check the output before you rely on it — for your accounts, your taxes or anything else.
  • Use it only for statements you are entitled to handle, and don't try to get round the limits.

1.These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and [to be added: registered name of the business], which operates TrueStatement (“we”, “us”). By using the site you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we keep, and forms part of these terms.

2.What TrueStatement does

TrueStatement converts bank statement PDFs into Excel files; with an account, CSV files too; on the paid plans, JSON; and on the Professional and Growth plans, Tally XML. The conversion runs in your web browser, on your device; your statement is never uploaded to us.

It reads the statement layouts it has been built for, which today are HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank. A statement it cannot read reliably — another bank's layout, a scan, a photograph — is refused rather than guessed at.

3.Free use, accounts and limits

  • Without an account, you can convert 3 statements a day, each up to 10 pages. The count is kept in your browser. A day runs from midnight to midnight, India time.
  • With a free account, you can convert 5 statements a day, each up to 10 pages, and one full statement — one longer than 10 pages — once.
  • On a paid plan, you can convert as many full statements each billing month as your plan includes: 30 on Starter, 100 on Professional and 300 on Growth. Statements of up to 10 pages never count, and have no daily limit.

A statement over your limit is converted only up to the limit — its first 10 pages — and is marked as partial on screen and in the name of every file you download from it. A partial conversion does not use up a full statement, and a statement that fails to convert uses up nothing. If we change these limits, we will update this page and the pricing on our site before the change applies.

To create an account you must be 18 or older and give an email address you control. You are responsible for keeping access to it secure, and for what is done with your account. One account is for one person.

4.Paid plans

Starter, Professional and Growth raise the number of full statements you can convert each month, as set out in clause 3, and add JSON export. Professional and Growth also add Tally XML export.

Payments are not open yet. When they are, the price, billing period, renewal and how to cancel will be shown to you before you pay, and these terms will be updated to include them. Nothing is charged until then.

5.Your statements, and checking the output

Use TrueStatement only for statements you own or are authorised to handle — for example, a client's statements with that client's permission.

Every conversion is checked against the balances printed on the statement, and we tell you when rows do not reconcile. That check catches most errors, but it cannot catch everything — an error in the bank's own PDF, for instance. The files TrueStatement produces are a starting point for your own work. You are responsible for checking them before you rely on them for accounting, tax filing, lending or any other decision. Party names, categories and voucher types are worked out from narrations and may be wrong; the party type is marked as a best guess. Nothing TrueStatement produces is financial, tax or legal advice.

6.Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • try to get round the usage limits or the plan restrictions;
  • use the service for anything unlawful, or to handle data you have no right to;
  • send automated or excessive requests to our systems, or try to break or disrupt them.

We may suspend an account that does these things.

7.Ownership

Your statements, and every file made from them, are yours. We claim no rights over them — we never receive them.

The TrueStatement software, name and design belong to us. Tally is a trademark of Tally Solutions, and bank names belong to their banks; TrueStatement is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

8.No warranty

We work hard to make every conversion correct, and we say so when one is not. But the service is provided “as is”, without any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suited to a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.

9.Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as lost profits, penalties or losses from decisions made using the output — and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.

10.Ending

You can stop using TrueStatement at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to truestatement.support@gmail.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

11.Changes, law and contact

If we change these terms, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [to be added: city] have jurisdiction.
